On Sat, Feb 19, 2011 we held an Olympic Weightlifting meet at MBS.
Olympic Weightlifting is one of the oldest sports in the Olympics. It is composed of two events: the Snatch, and the Clean & Jerk. There are formal rules on what constitutes a good lift, a timing clock, judges, etc.
The athlete gets three attempts at the Snatch and three attempts at Clean & Jerk.
On this day my attempts were:
Snatch:
85 lbs - Good
95 lbs - Fail. substantial press out at the top
95 lbs - Good. PR
Clean & Jerk:
110 lbs - Good
120 lbs - Fail. press out at top
120 lbs - Good. PR
Adding the two numbers together results in your
"Olympic Total" 215 lbs PR
